Sacramento CA Bankruptcy Filing is on the rise. Bankruptcy filing in the Sacramento Bankruptcy Court is on the increase. In the first four months of 2010 Bankruptcy filings for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy in Sacramento totaled 14,727. That represents an increase of almost 30% from the 11,462 Chapter 7 cases filed in the same period in 2009. When compared to 2006, the first full year following the changes in the Bankruptcy Code, commonly
known as BAPCPA, (which the change in the law was designed to reduce the number of bankruptcy filings), the first four months of 2006 there were 1,515 bankruptcies filed. If the number of Sacramento Bankruptcy filings continue at the same pace through 2010 almost 49,000 Chapter 7 Bankruptcies will be filed. At this pace that would be an increase of 10,500 above last year. As this dramatic economic situation plays out, no one can really predict what is going to happen, one thing is for sure, the number of Chapter 7 Bankruptcies filed in the Sacramento CA bankruptcy court is likely to continue to rise.
